UPMC Italy offers professional opportunities in an international and multicultural setting at IRCCS ISMETT (Istituto Mediterraneo per i Trapianti e Terapie ad Alta Specializzazione) one of the most technologically advanced and state-of-the-art medical centers in Italy, managed by UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) in partnership with Civico Hospital and the Ri.MED Foundation.

The IRCCS ISMETT Heart transplant and ventricular assist device (VAD) program allows to manage a complex population of advanced heart failure patients. Every year, IRCCS ISMETT’s Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery departments treat approximately 1,000 patients with complex cardiac diseases using state-of-the-art and minimally-invasive technologies. This position offers a considerable opportunity for a young professional interested in studying the most modern cardiovascular diagnostic imaging techniques, and becoming familiar with the decision-making process and clinical management of heart disease patients. In such a context, even the expert cardiologist will find a highly-qualified and welcoming team, and an opportunity to increase his or her professional knowledge.

Requisites:

  • Degree in Medicine and Surgery recognized in Italy, or equivalent title.
  • Postgraduate diploma in Cardiology recognized in Italy, or equivalent title.
  • Enrollment in the professional board.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous documented professional experience in the clinical management of cardiac diseases and performing echocardiographies.
  • Scientific production rated with the H-index.

English proficiency, knowledge of main computer applications, high motivation, flexibility, stress management, problem-solving skills, and good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills complete the profile.

The contract offered will be commensurate with the experience and skills of the selected candidate.

The workplace is Palermo.
