UPMC Italy is issuing a call for applications for 1 UPMC International Administrative Fellowship (Ref. IAF/2020)

UPMC Italy (the Italian division of UPMC) is a leader in patient care, biomedical research, telemedicine, IT development and consulting services in areas related to medicine and research.

We are seeking graduates interested in health care management and in embarking on a two-year paid fellowship in an international setting, under a no-term employment contract.

The first year of the UPMC International Administrative Fellowship will be centered in Pittsburgh, PA. Fellows will spend their first year rotating with executive-level leadership, participating in various projects, meetings, and initiatives through a variety of core functional rotations.

The second year allows the fellow to spend time working in Italy in an area of interest and/or organizational need. UPMC Italy’s clinical and scientific activity mainly focuses on transplantation and oncology, and in other specialties: from emergency medicine to neurosurgery, from preventive medicine to cardiac surgery. The second year of the fellowship encompasses rotations in the offices of UPMC Italy located in Italy.

The ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • University degree.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, or healthcare management or public health or other related administrative master’s degree program. Applicants, who have completed their master within the last 24 months, prior to the time of application, will receive top consideration.
  • 2-3 years of experience in healthcare setting.
  • Fluent in Italian and English, written and oral.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other Project Management tools, as necessary

Excellent analytic and communication skills, being motivated and self-starting, being adaptive to change, critical thinking skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision are also instrumental for the success of the fellowship.
